Hurrah for Israel!

Wow!

Its 2014 already I cannot believe how fast the year is coming. It seems like yesterday the year just started and now the month of Jan. is almost half over. I wish time would slow down for about a week so I could look and reflect on the mission I am serving for the lord. What a blessing that truly is to say.

This week in Dunwoody it’s been so amazing. We received some awesome training from the assistants that has really been a blessing for me and this area. I think it’s really amazing that the information I am about to share with you really applies to everybody it’s not just for me and Elder Woodward or for the Dunwoody District but it applies to you at home as well. So it deals a lot with finding new investigators:

1.      Faith- you have to believe that there are people to be found. That the Lord will put people in your path. If you don’t believe and trust of course there won’t be people to find because you’re putting limits on what the Lord and you can do.
2.      Holy Ghost- listen to the promptings of the spirit. He’s the one that really does the work and converts people and as you increase in faith you will increase in spirit
3.      Charity- love those that you come in contact with. Love the like Jesus loves us. It’s the only way that you can bear testimony to people that will touch their heart. You can try to do it other ways but when you do these 3 things it will have much more success than tracting alone or doing it some other way. I testify to that. It’s proven successful already
4.      Have Fun- you have to have fun in this work if you don’t you’re not doing your job. LOL

We have had some really good experiences this week. We were going to see a less active member named Adam. As we were walking to his house a gentleman got in his truck and was getting ready to leave and part of me said "Oh no this is going to be awkward just keep walking don’t make it look like we were going to stop" but that as we approached the mighty spirit came and told me don’t be a chicken you have to fail to get better and so Elder Woodward and I decided to stop and talk to Joe. Joe has grown up Catholic but stopped going to church. He has bounced around a lot of different churches and was really excited to let us come back. He admitted yesterday that he is looking for the truth and the Lord is preparing him. We invited him to be baptized for Feb. 15th. He’s such an awesome guy. He has a disease that is similar to MS so he can’t feel is hands or his feet. The spirit is so strong that he carries. He needs the gospel. I even gave a Book of Mormon that I received from Sis. Summerhayes in CO with her testimony. I really felt he needed it. He’s so awesome. I’m excited for his progress. I don’t have any doubts that he will accept it. He will come around :)

Elder Woodward and I are doing great. We are finally tuning in the key for the Dunwoody Ward. It’s going to take a couple of powerful experiences for the members to jump on board. The members are so willing to do the work! I’m so excited for this area. It really will be so powerful. Right now my goal is by the end of my time here in Dunwoody is to have the back dividers open and just full of people. :) It will happen :)

It’s been so good. I love this time in my life. I can’t even imagine where my life would be if I didn’t choose to serve. This has been the greatest experience of my life ever :)
Love,
Elder Macoubrie
