Greetings from Dunwoody Ward!
What can I say about this week? Well
it’s been rather boring. But the ending part of the week has just been a blast!
First off, I just want to say thank
you to whoever may be reading this. You truly have been an inspiration to me to
serve the Lord Jesus Christ. How thankful I am for the prayers and the support
that you have provided me. It’s amazing just to see how much our Heavenly Father
loves us! I say this because the love that we have comes from our Heavenly Father.
Thank you for carrying the spirit and being found worthy.
So it’s been a little tough week. We
haven’t quite figured out the key to the more affluent people of Atlanta but I’m
constantly on the search. But it will come. A lot of appointments fell through
this week which was devastating but its ok because tomorrow is another day. You
can never let the bad stuff get you down no matter how hard. Elder Woodward got
sick this weekend which was really hard as well (but really good for me :)) he
came down with just a mild case of the flu which the mission nurse said to rest
so... We did exactly that. We rest all for 2 days. Luckily he's feeling a
little bit better so we can at least get out there and work once again.
But we had stake conference this
weekend and what a powerhouse of a stake the Atlanta stake is.... So let me
start off Saturday night we were invited to attend the leadership section and
the adult session although everyone both youth and adults get to attend now but
any who I was happy to go. We talked about the hastening the work of salvation:
Which is what we are all called to
do!!!
One of the speakers spoke on
priesthood authority and he said the brightness of the sun has no indication of
how warm it is outside. Another speaker said that the key to lighting any ward
and members on fire for them to really get going with the Savior’s plea to
missionary work is to host missionary lessons in your (members’ homes). It’s
key! I invite to whoever reads this to call your set of missionaries and invite
them to teach in your home this week. Tell them you expect it of them. They
will love it :)
On Sunday it was a broadcast from FL
where Elder Gay and Pres. McConkie and Elder Nelson of the 12 spoke to about 48
stakes in the south east region. What a conference!
They spoke a lot about love and if
we truly love them (our friends and family) we will invite them to act. They
spoke of the hastening of not just on this side of the vale but on the other.
So invite people here on earth and give them the opportunity to accept the
gospel on the other side. Do your temple work and family history. Something
that I thought was really cool that Elder Nelson talked about the word doctrine
both plural and singular. The word doctrine in the scrips is always followed
with good connotation but when it changes to doctrines it’s always followed
with bad... Doctrines of men and the such. It was really cool.
Elder Nelson also quoted that the
highest priesthood responsibility of a man is to love your wife... And to tell
her you love her every single day. I thought that was really powerful. And one
more things to truly learn of the Savior and come to know Him is to study his
life and to teach of Him! It’s that easy! How amazing!
This weekend has just been awesome!
Love,
Elder
