Awesome

What an amazing week this has been!

So it’s been an awesome week we have had so many good things happen and I just can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for the rest of the year :) for the most part everything was normal. Actually didn’t have too much work just a couple meetings and phone calls with the stake and ward leaders here in Conyers to work some things out in other wards just stuff to move the work more effectively so that was fun. I always like helping everyone :)

And then on Saturday we have Elder Dallin H. Oaks of Quorum of the 12 Apostles come speak to us for a couple hours and that was just a splendid meeting. How inspired is that man and for the love that he has for our Savior. He didn’t talked about anything specific but went solely by the spirit and just talked to us about some general things that we as a missionary force can improve on.  Mostly teaching the basics. All too many times we try to sound smarter by teaching all the big things and trying to convince people by facts and data but in reality we just need to listen to the spirit and just act on what he’s telling us to do.

He also just said that we should never assume anyone knows how to pray. Or assume anything for that matter. Just teach them the basics and help them improve the quality of their live by living the principles of the restored gospel. It’s amazing how the gospel will help with everything we face in life... :) and all we have to do is just trust in the savior who literally has lived it all.
Elder Schnell and I had a SUPER powerful lesson yesterday with a man named Ricky Morgan. His wife is a member has 3 kids who aren't baptized and Ricky himself isn't baptized. He has been going through a lot of challenges in his life and is really ready for that change that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has to offer. Any who, he wanted to learn more about the priesthood and how to obtain the priesthood. And I have never been prompted more to share a specific lesson about the gospel than I did last night. We went in to the member’s home not knowing what to expect or what to teach but that I believe are some of the best teaching chances we have because we HAVE to rely on the spirit. Now I’m not saying do that every time but it was amazing how powerful we both were to teach and invite him to be baptized. His date is for NOV 23rd and I believe that he is ready. He has come a long way and is so ready for this change :) I’m so excited for him. He’s going to be an amazing priesthood holder and patriarch for his family.

I was just thinking about Lehi’s dream and how we all can live that life  that Lehi desired for his family. As we come closer to the tree of life and come closer to Christ we will look out and find and call out for those around us (missionary work) and as he come closer holding on to the rod of iron I promise you that we will have the inspiration to talk to everyone and invite them to the true church. May we all invite one friend this week to church :)

Love,
E MAC
