Of Transfers and Training

Well another exciting week here in Union City.

Transfers are this week and I found out this morning that Elder Smith and I are splitting up. Elder Smith is going to go to a new area just north west of us that is just opening called West Town. I am staying in Union City and becoming a trainer for a new missionary. It’s pretty exciting but pretty nervous. I don’t want to be a bad trainer so it’s going to be a fun process. Pretty cool though that this will be the longest area of my mission so far.

This week hasn’t been the best for Elder Smith and I. Not a lot of work is happening and not too much new is happening but the Lord has a mysterious way of working so it’s just a matter of time for us to begin seeing the answers to our prayers. Church this week was really cool. Nothing exciting happened other than I had to speak on miracles but other than that it was a normal Sunday. Tasha is super set on being baptized on the 23rd of March. So hopefully we will see her baptized and we will be able to baptize 3 of her children in the near future. She announced it to the whole ward so now it’s go time. It’s really funny to see how people’s hearts change over time and the spirit is really able to touch their hearts. Tasha has really just made a turn around and it’s so fun to watch!!! I love missionary work and the watching how the spirit is able to act and change people’s lives.

So this week I picked up an Ensign of the last General Conference and right where I turned to was Elder Bednar’s talk and he’s talking about testimonies and conversion. Elder Bednar’s talk really set the tone for what we need to do to receive salvation. He talks a lot about how a testimony is a great thing to have and its necessary for salvation but it doesn’t mean that we are "converted". It’s a stepping stone for us to use to be able to become truly converted to the Lord Jesus Christ and to his wonderful gospel. Conversion is actually doing what you believe in your testimony and what you say you believe in. Many times we just merely say that we believe but do we do? That’s a question you should ask yourself in this next week. Am I truly converted?

With my talk this week I was able to speak on miracles and I learned a lot of cool things. Miracles are a byproduct of faith. Faith produces miracles and really helps us know God lives. Miracles don’t produce faith and don’t help us know. If we want to produce miracles we have to increase our faith. It’s a necessary process that has and must occur. Do your own little study on miracles and always seek revelation for miracles! Always seek and he will lead you to those miracles.

I love you all so much and thanks for all that you do and with all the support you give me!!
With much love,
Elder William Macoubrie
