Faith and General Conference

Hey Kimmie!

Yes the library was open thank goodness. I would have been mad if it wasn’t.

Conference was great! I thought they really threw down and the things they said will really help the world now a day. The new changes that are happening to the missionary program is great. There will hopefully be a lot more missionaries that come out. Especially sisters not that it’s not too late and things don’t have to be stopped for a while. More and more missionaries will be able to serve and still be able to have a life haha.
Things have been good here. I have a new companion Elder Chase. I’m still getting used to him. It’s funny now that I’m out here I don’t really talk much unless I have something to say and he really wants to talk all the time. So it’s kind of weird still. He’s been out 14 months and he’s from California. Plus side about me staying...I’m the dd now :) I always love driving. Cusseta is still Cusseta. Our one investigator is still good. Chris. We will see if we can give him a date soon so he can be baptized but who knows. The area is still really slow but we are trying to do our best to get more work going.

President Harding is finally here and i met him and his family. They are really nice. He already has a good vision of the area already and he really knows what he wants to be accomplished. He wants us to read the B.O.M. in the next 2 transfers so that is about 8 pages a day! That’s crazy! But it will be a good thing that will open the windows of heaven. He wants all the missionaries to bless each home we enter. Doesn’t matter if they don’t want to meet with them just want us to bless the home and the family residing there so that’s a new change that we have to get used to. I still have to practice on that.

You know I was sitting in conference listening to a talk on Saturday night and I realized that even though I don’t like Cusseta. I am being like Grandpa Kay. He was really in some small areas. It had it harder because I bet he wasn’t the best at the language yet. I probably will never serve in Finland but I have a small taste of what it’s like serving in a small area. I don’t know if that makes sense but that something that I though of and I felt proud that I am walking in the footsteps of Grandpa!

How did you guys like conference? Who was your favorite speaker? Mine was Neil A. Anderson. He talked a lot about faith and that it that we all need to be happy. My attitude definitely hasn’t been the best down here but I am trying to have more faith and be happier and just try to do my absolute best with everything. I want to be that awesome example for the family and for Livy and Chris. I want Livy to serve a mission one day and be a good example for her brothers and sisters and cousins and everyone. I want Dan to serve and for everyone else to serve a senior mission one day. I don’t care if I’ll have to pay for everyone to go but I’ll do it if that’s the only way to get everyone out there. A mission has really changed my life for the better. I feel that I can make it in the world and that I really mean something to Heavenly Father. I really feel that I’m no longer a burden on the family and that I have purpose.

We did go to base this week. It was their "fast and testimony" even though they don’t fast for obvious reasons. I love it there. The soldiers have such a strong testimony and the ones who show up and afraid to show their true colors. They aren’t afraid to say that they are Mormon. They are all doing some really good missionary work. We don’t have to do any work there. They do it for us. We just have to teach them when they show up. That saves the hard work for us :p It was really a good meeting this week I thought. One of the best that I’ve had since being out here.

Well not much has changed. I have to wear my suit all the time now when it gets below 75 so I’m hoping it gets over 75 most days. HAHA. I want to find more suits I can wear at thrift stores when I get near some again. Well that’s about it. I’m still sexy and in Georgia. So have a good week! I love you so much!

Love,

Elder William Lionel Macoubrie
