Spreading the Word

Kimmie!

How’s everything going? Any success or anything new to tell me about?

I’m so excited to see what the new age change does for the influx of missionary work. Not just for young men but for the young women. My guess is that if we get enough we will probably have a sister companionship in each town there is elders. Mostly that if the people don’t like elders they might like sisters and vice versa. I’m so excited to see that everyone is getting ready to go and ready to serve. This experience has changed my life. Truly has and I know that it has changed everyone’s life in our family. Like Chris and Cindy and hopefully Todd. It’s cool that Dan will be getting ready to go out when I get home. He will be able to get all my ties and stuff that I used he can use :) really cool stuff.

Well, let me tell you about Cusseta.... Not much has changed. We are still teaching Chris Long and he is doing well. His situation is so sad. He lives in this old abandoned garage that the sheriff said he could stay in. But we do all that we can for him.  Hopefully he will be baptized soon and can get going farther into the church. He’s incredibly smart. He’s writing a war history book for 300 ad to about 1942. So that’s cool. We have 2 baptismal dates set for Nov. 24. Their names are Relisha and Willie. Mom and son. They haven’t really been progressing yet and are possibly moving but they will hopefully realize that the church is where they need to be. So hopefully we can get them going for that and help them keep progressing to the church.

The base is still really cool. I’ve had some really spiritual and uplifting experiences there. So far we are teaching about 1-4 guys a week. It’s really cool to see how the soldiers are missionaries even though they don’t really see themselves as a missionary. All it takes for most of the LDS members in the branch is a question. And then it leads to them coming to find out more and that leads (sometimes) to them meeting with me and Elder Chase to be taught to be baptized. I had a really cool story to tell you about. So I taught this guys like 2 weeks ago about the commandments. And he’s the one that is 18 and married. And he was interviewed to be baptized and he came up to me this Sunday and asked if I could be there at his baptism to actually do the ordinance! I mean I get to dunk him!! Man when he asked I was/am really nervous to do that I don’t want to mess it up for him. Hopefully if I can I’ll get his name and address and keep in touch with him so I can make sure he stays active and maybe go visit him when I come back to visit GA. But who knows we will see.

So the Book of Mormon challenge that President Harding asked us to do is 8 pages a day. I have been slacking mostly because the meetings I have are during the study hour and the drive time takes a lot of the time that I have to actually read. But there’s an amazing power in the Book of Mormon. I can see/ feel that I am happier when it read it every day and I don’t feel myself really looking to get out. I feel that I can be happy no matter what the circumstance maybe. Such as our apartment is a dump. Mold and videogames and TV. Stuff that I wish I could take and send home but I cant. Luckily we don’t mess with it but man is it a distraction. No other missionary has spoken up about it until I got here and no one believed me what I was saying until everyone has come to see what I have said about it. So now, luckily, we are trying to find a new place to live that is able to invite the spirit more. It’s hard to find a small place to rent in a really small town but we keep praying and looking for new place to go. Maybe I’ll send the video I took home so you guys can see where I’ve lived for 3 months.

The weather is finally started cooling off this week and so now we have to put jackets back on. This week has actually been right around 80 all week and boy has that just been really nice to have warm weather back in. We had a little rain storm this morning that put quite a wet spot on the ground outside. Rained really hard for about 10 minutes. But no snow yet. :/ I hope we get some. Well I don’t know what else to say or to talk about. Everything’s been going good so far. Nothing crazy or weird has happened. Which is good.
Well, have a good week.  I love and miss you so much!

I think I’m good on everything really. I have money and I have everything that I need really. If I need it I mostly buy it (which there really isn’t anything I need) so I think I’m good but maybe if you can maybe you can get Kiara’s email address so I can write :) I always like having peoples email so I can write lots of people. Maybe if I write enough people I can change someone’s life at home. Maybe send an address for a young man in the ward that I can try to convince to serve a mission. Of course if the bishop says that would be ok. I don’t know,  just had that thought come to me but I love you and miss you so much! Have a great week!

Much love from GA,

Elder Willus Mac

P.S. Me and district I’m in.
