Days Wind Down

Wow! What a fantastic day this has been for sure!

So the weather came and went. All of Georgia was shut down for the 2 days it was here. It was crazy. Stores were out of water bread and milk. People were panicking about the snow and ice. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting though. The roads did get icy but only for a day. And then the snow came and made everything look really cool. I loved the weather this week. Today it’s pushing 60s. I actually pulled our couch out on our deck where the sun is shining and took a nap. It felt great :)

Things are going. We had a good lesson with John (whose wife passed away in Jan.) with our ward mission leader in his home. John is still heart broken. And he was having irrational thoughts when we were teaching him but it was fascinating to watch the spirit work with him and watch his demeanor change. There is one thing I know for sure... It comes out of the Preach My Gospel lesson chapter 10 and the heading is How to Begin Teaching but the point is that no matter what your needs or concerns might be the Savior and His teachings-the gospel-will help you! How true that is. There is never a problem in this life the gospel can’t help and fix. That’s how loving our Savior is. He knows and he cares and he will help!

We had a new baptismal invitation this week, Andrew. We have been trying to stop by for weeks and seem him and we either just miss him or barely catch him when he just gets home and doesn’t want to talk. His fiancé doesn’t want us to talk with him for some reason but he is so interested in learning more. So we talked with him and Elder Woodward found his concern. He just wants to learn and doesn’t really understand faith and Elder Woodward just took his concern and nurtured it like a pro. Andrew committed for March 15th! It’s so awesome!

This week has a lot of exciting this happening this week so far.  Tonight we have a meeting with the zone leaders, the stake high councilman over missionary work, the bishop and our ward mission leader discussing missionary work in the Dunwoody ward. On Wednesday we have interviews with President Harding which will be exciting for sure and that night we have ward council. Thursday morning we have an opportunity to take Jamila (a recent convert of the ward) to the temple and walk her around temple grounds. I am really excited this week is going to be way fun. :)

But things are going good. Just trying to stay focused on the last days and to work as hard as I can. It hit me the other day how fast the days and winding down and how fast this chapter of life will be closed. But I have no reservations in saying this will forever be the best experience of my life. :)
