Welcome to Conyers

Dear family!

What a week this has been! Full of excitement and sadness and happiness. So as y’all know I did indeed get transferred from the amazing city of Atlanta and have now been assigned to serve in the great city of Conyers, GA. It’s just about an hour east of Atlanta and yes we still have all the planes flying over. It’s an interesting zone that actually got adopted into the GAM when the Macon mission opened and all the new areas opened up. So we had a lot of new missionaries from the north mission and the zone had some hard feelings towards the GAM. Nothing bad just have the opportunity to show love and counsel with them. It’s been a little struggle adopting and adapting.

My new companion is Elder Schell. He is a good leader and has been out just under a year. He has been zone leader as long as I have so we are both relatively new to the zone leader business but it’s going to be an amazing transfer. He is a powerful teacher and a mighty leader.

So this is part of my weekly letter to President Harding. He asked what a miracle we have had since Friday and asked what kind of miracle/dream we want to have in our life is and this is how I answered...well a miracle that happen since last Friday.. Well President, I’m still on a mission I’m still am breathing... But we found this amazing lady named Charlene. We over to see a less active and he was asleep but luckily as we were talking to engaging her as we said a prayer and blessing with her, he awoke and came out inviting us inside. We were able to share a powerful 1st lesson with her bringing out concerns as we taught. She hasn’t been attending due to the fact that she feels “unworthy". But she committed to be baptized on 16th of Nov and we are super excited. We don’t really have a teaching pool as of yet but we are working hard to find amazing souls.

Part 2 I feel I want to find is one to finish my mission strong. I still have a while but it comes quick. And my biggest fear is that I will "pile" out and not finish strong but I am determined to finish strong. I also want to marry the girl of my dreams and to live a happy gospel filled life and being married and sealed in the temple. That’s my biggest dream and biggest miracle I desire for my life.

Life on the mission is good. I really am enjoying it. I just love being able to serve the lord full time and fight for freedom against the adversary. Every time we allow temptation to sway us we allow us to be slaves to him. And I know none of us want to be in bondage so we all must fight and crush the adversary. Let us all unite and bring our friends and family and our neighbors to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I speak as a missionary that we need members help to invite others to hear the restored gospel. I can’t do it by ourselves. Ask the missionaries to show you how to do missionary work. Be willing to learn and to help out!

I pray a blessing upon you that you may catch the missionary spirit and that we may all unite in finding and inviting!

Love,
Elder Macoubrie
