Just Ask

Hello!

Missionary work never ceases to amaze me. There are literally millions of miracles that are going on around us! When has been the last time you stopped and looked for all of them? I wish I had enough time to tell you about the ones that I have seen and that I have experienced lately.

So it’s been an interesting week. We had a lot of different things happened that I know happened for a reason and that it was almost a test from the Lord. He just wanted to see how things would play out.

Tuesday we had Mission President interviews and had a good time talking with President for the last 10 minutes of the night. It was crazy! President started interviewing the Atlanta West Zone at 2pm and didn’t finish until 9:45! I was the last one. That meeting was supposed to be done at 7:30. But I know that what President told me was inspired and that he gathered information about me and from all the other missionaries to help them in their progression to be with the Savior. On Friday we said goodbye to Elder Farr. He was one of the missionaries that stayed in the same apartment. It was sad to see him go but it was amazing to see the change he had while being in the area. He came in and didn’t want to be obedient and such but by the love that the Savior had he changed. It really was sad to see him leave.

It’s so sad to try your hardest to let people know about the gospel of Jesus Christ and help them enable themselves to change and repent and when you have spiritual experiences. But it happens. And when it does we all have to remember that we have been given a special gift, the right to choose, agency! We all can choose right and wrong. It’s something that I love having that ability to have. We had a couple cool experiences lately. Just by talking to everyone. Checking out at Publix and the lady that was bagging our groceries was reading The Book of Mormon and really liked it! What?! That never happens but the Lord knows her heart better than anyone else on earth and He has prepared her heart like a champion.

My testimony grows everyday about the power of prayer. I told you all this last time but when we do as the Lord say he has to bless us. Elder Wahlen and I pray every day like crazy! Funny experience... We had an appointment with a lady named Judith Goodall we show up to our appointment at about 8:10 when our appointment was at 8. But I talked to her 15 earlier and she said she was there. We come to the door and we have to get through 2 locked gates to get to her house. Easy.... Got through one and get to the second one. We waited for about 10 minutes and elder Wahlen suggested that we pray. He asked the Lord in 5 minutes the door will open.  4 minutes goes by and we ask this lady if she had a key... Slam! Door opens and closes at 5 minutes from when we said the prayer. Bummer..... So we wait a minute longer Elder Wahlen looks at me and says I used my faith it’s your turn. So I pray and ask for 2-3 min the door will open. And guess what? The Lord did as we asked. We were obedient and He did as we humbly asked for a blessing. It will happen. Do you believe it will happen? I promise if you try it. It will happen.
Love,
Elder Macoubrie
