Growing in the Gospel

Note from Kim: Because Elder Macoubrie has a limited amount of time to write letters back home, he’s been writing a family message and adding some customized pieces where necessary. Most of these are written to me, but were really to everybody.

Kimme!

What’s up cat? It’s all good about the emails. I understand how busy everyone must have been. I was saying prayers all that day for everything to go smooth. I’m glad that it went well and that everybody who did come did. I’m so glad to see the aunties come out and definitely Grandpa Bill and Grandma Helen. Heavenly Father really made it happen for them to come without a doubt in my mind that’s what happened. :)

So we have a couple cool people to tell you about. The first couple is really cool. I hope that I can start working with them soon. But her name is Karley and I forgot her fiancés name but they have a story just like Cindy. They lived life and partied pretty hard. Just did what they wanted. But bam than she got prego. And she’s due in like a week. But she’s a member and he’s not. and hopefully we can teach them and get them baptized. I’m praying for that to happen. But it’s the exact same story. So Cindy will have to get her and Chris' testimony for me so maybe that will help them. Next is Garrett. He’s doing so well. Works a lot and isn’t able to come to church as much as he would like but he’s still ready to be baptized on the 15th of Sept. He was just so prepared prior us coming to his door. Read the Book of Mormon, read Gospel Principles book (which is an awesome book). I mean he just wants to go to the temple and be sealed to her so bad. He wants her dad to baptize him since he’s like his 2nd dad. It’s kinda cool to watch how this will all play out in the long run. Hopefully I’ll still be here to watch everything play out and work like it should.

I wish I could go to the temple more and partake of those ordinances. But I have other work to do. I love talking about the temple and teaching people about those ordinances. It’s really hard to teach down here. Everyone just loves the trinity and the bible and that’s something that I am starting to overcome. I am learning a lot every day and trying to be the best teacher I can be. It’s hard when I don’t have a way to learn and see how other people teach. I am basically teaching myself. I have the idea on how I want to teach and how it should be down but it seems that every missionary doesn’t see that this way works a lot of the time. Yes it takes more work and more visits. I pray every day that I will learn and receive inspiration on how to become a better teacher and missionary. Slowly but surely. The turtle and the hare.

I’m so glad that we have the church and gospel in our lives. I’m so glad that I have a family that supports my decisions and supports me coming out here to serve the lord. I had to teach Gospel Principles yesterday. Something really cool happened to me as I was studying for that lesson. I was teaching about the sacrament. And the promises we made and the gift we receive in return. But we are never forced to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ. It’s our choice. And I have chosen to take his name but as well as that huge name and promise that I took upon I took upon the name of Macoubrie. I’m not out here serving just the lord but my family. I’m serving you and mom and dad and everyone. It’s a huge task that I have but I hope and pray that I am doing it well.

Well Kimmer I love you and aaron so much! I hope everything goes well with his skid and work.

I love you so much helmet head hahahahh

Love
Elder william macoubrie :)
